2002-2004 HAP
Data Synopsis
Friends of the Teton River (FTR) surveyed the Upper Teton River during the summers of 2002, 2003 and 2004 as a part of the Habitat Assessment Project (HAP). HAP is designed to assess and improve aquatic habitat conditions. The project consists of a visual channel assessment survey and a site specific stream survey. The stream survey collected detailed information on channel geomorphology, in-stream habitat, riparian vegetation and bank stability. Reports are displayed at the bottom of this section.
Geomorphologic data is presented for each study section in Table 1. The gradient for each site was determined between x-section T1 and T5 when possible. In 2003, the gradient was surveyed using a total station from Fox Creek to South Bates Bridge. Width/Depth ratios were calculated at bank-full stage.

Sites and x-sections are presented from up stream to down stream. X-sections are displayed as though you were looking up stream at them. NOTE: the x and y scales on the x-section graphs are not proportional since many x-sections would appear as nearly straight lines on 8.5 x 11 inch paper. All graphs have the same scale; 10 feet on the y axis and 340 feet on the x axis, except Site 4-4.5, X-Sect T2, which has a y scale of 12 feet. The elevations appear different on the y scale since each site was surveyed at an arbitrary elevation.
