Besides membership, there are a variety of ways to donate to Friends of the Teton River. Any level of giving will go directly towards helping to preserve and protect the Teton Basin water resources and is extremely appreciated. Please contact Anna Lindstedt, Development Director, to discuss any of the following opportunities.
Teton River Stewards
In January 2004, the Friends of the Teton River Board of Trustees created a new society to encourage and recognize philanthropy support of the Friends of the Teton River (FTR) mission. The board named the organization the Teton River Stewards to demonstrate the importance of citizen involvement in protecting and restoring the Teton Watershed, its tributaries and wetlands.
Founding membership is being extended to the first 50 individuals contributing $1,000 or more to Friends of the Teton River over the course of a single fiscal year. Membership is then renewable each subsequent year. Qualifying contributions can be made to the FTR general fund which supports immediate needs in staffing, technology and facilities or specific program areas. The Teton River Stewards is an important building block of Friends of the Teton River. Members provide the foundation to continue preserving and protecting vital water resources in the Teton Valley.
All Teton River Stewards will receive invitations to a Teton River float and reception, grateful recognition in the Annual Report and founding member plaque, updates from the Executive Director on a semi-annual basis, the quarterly newsletter Water Lines, a beautiful Dan Burr Cutthroat Print and an Elisa Davis FTR T-shirt.
In kind donations
Friends of the Teton River has received a variety of in kind donations including auction items, discounts on a drift boat, artwork and photographs, computer equipment and more. FTR is always seeking gear or trip donations for our Annual River Party and Auction held on the last Saturday in June. Please contact Mitch Felchle, for more information.
Gifts of Securities
Friends of the Teton River can accept gifts of stock and mutual funds. We would be glad to provide you with all the necessary banking information necessary.
Bequests
Significant commitment to a nonprofit can be made in the form of a bequest. Through a will or living trust, donors can make a gift to support protection of water resources for future generations. Since bequests are generally exempt from federal or state inheritance taxes, a commitment through a will may be a larger donation than expected. Please consult your tax advisor and contact FTR for assistance in establishing a legacy.
