Watershed Curriculum
Thanks to the Donald C. Brace Foundation and an EPA Education Grant, FTR was awarded funding to produce a water education curriculum. In the winter of 2005, Education and Outreach Director Anna Lindstedt was busy writing the consequent Teton River Watershed Curriculum. This curriculum will be completed by May 2005 and available to Teton Valley educators and students (K-12) in the fall of 2005. The curriculum includes lesson plans and activities covering topics such as ground and surface water, the water cycle, weather, water professions, riparian habitat, water quality, and the history of water resources in the Snake River watershed. In addition, the curriculum will include workbooks for students covering water quality and stream habitat assessment. FTR plans to present this information in an accessible PDF format on CD-ROM for teachers and students. Lindstedt will provide training for Teton Valley teachers concerning the curriculum and water education resources available from FTR. To receive a copy of the Teton River Watershed Curriculum or a listing of water education equipment that is available, contact Education Director Anna Lindstedt at 208-354-3871.
