FTR has a diversified funding base including support from event income, memberships and donations, Old Bill’s Fun Run, private and governmental grants and a United States Congressional Appropriation.
Event Income
Throughout the year, FTR sponsors several events to interact with members, educate the general public on current issues and raise funds for general operating expenses. The annual meeting and auction is FTR’s biggest fundraiser and party. It is held each year during the last Saturday of June and includes an evening of food and fun by the Teton River. For a schedule of events, please go to the Events page.
Memberships and Donations
The foundation of Friends of the Teton River is our members and donors. More than 450 individuals have helped protect and preserve Teton Basin’s precious water resources by joining and contributing. Individual gifts help FTR complete important research about water resources, provide public education and implement on the ground improvement projects. As a community organization, FTR relies heavily on private support to keep the doors open. To join FTR, please go to the Join page.
Old Bill’s Fun Run
FTR participates in Old Bill’s Fun Run sponsored by the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. By contributing to FTR through Old Bill’s Fun Run, your contribution will be matched at a variable percentage depending on the amount raised by Co-Challengers. The average match percentage over the past seven years is 48% allowing your contribution to have an even greater impact. Old Bill’s fun run provides the majority of FTR’s general operational dollars.
